A Day In An Arctic

After a long night sleep, dawn has finally broken from the horizon, a new day has begun. Unfortunately, the weather had unwelcomed us. The conditions were beyond expectation, it is unpredictable living in this kind of environment, a new day always come with new challenges. Sunlight was nowhere to be seen and the temperature dropped dramatically within a few hours. We were encountered by a storm which won't last until tomorrow noon, we can barely see the small path ways we have created earlier, the visibility has risen to 300 metres, we were trapped.

Our work were stop and we have to move indoors where a team of specialist were working on their project, which is collecting small water creatures or (plankton) for further examination and water samples to investigate the changes whether it could be affecting ocean currents and water patterns worldwide.

Yesterday, we have sent back two of our teammates on plane back to the motherland where they will prepare and transport back food supplies and a replacement for our satellite communication pod. However, within this condition, we had a hunch. Since the snow had covered up all the runway, we went outside and clear the pathway. The wind was intensely blowing that it could move me sidewards. The sun began to collide with the horizon again. It’s getting dark however there were no signals and the presencence of the plane. We keep on waiting...waiting
