A day in the life of a Young Ambassador
We woke up to a storm. The weather had changed drastically since yesterday. The blue sky was gone and the Sun went into hiding. In their place came violent winds and never ending snow that covered the base like a thick, suffocating blanket. We couldn’t do anything about it, it was beyond our ability.
This meant no field work could be done, and instead we moved indoors. We were split into teams and we all had different tasks.
Some of us were on our bikes, wheeling up the nets and the some were at the other end, collecting and sorting the crustacean we had caught.
The scientists use these creatures to aid them in their research and experiments. The aim of our expedition, to collect as much information about climate change as possible.
Currently, we are studying the surface layer of the Arctic ocean, we believe that there is potential that there is something there that is the key for us to understand the changes at are happening to our Earth. The scientists are working to the best of their abilities, and things are looking bright. We think we will be coming to a conclusion very soon.
As young ambassadors, we do our best to represent the team. We often have to do phone interviews, presentations and blog posts to share our information and experiences with as many people as possible. It is our job to spread awareness about these pressing issues to the younger audience. Communication is the key. We need as many helping hands as we can get to help save our planet.
