Relflection

I’ve always knew, since I was little that I wanted to travel. To learn, to explore the world beyond my horizons. I longed for adventure and now I’ve got exactly what I wanted. I know that no other adventure can be comparable to this one.

I was so overwhelmed by the purity of the Arctic. Bangkok, my home town, is a metropolis. One of the busiest and probably most heavily polluted cities in the world. I’ve never been anywhere as clean as the Arctic. It was so amazing to experience something that is so untouched by humanity. You can’t believe how many stars we can see at night there. Truly a paradise for lovers of astronomy.

For me the most memorable experience was witnessing the magnificent Northern Lights. I’ve never seen anything more beautiful than the emerald Aurora, flowing through the night sky. It was magnetic, I couldn’t tear my eyes away.

Another thing I loved about this trip was getting to see all the wildlife. Penguins, polar bears, the adorable baby seals. It’s incredible to see how these animals and many more are able to survive in such extreme conditions.

Visiting the Arctic has been a dream for me. I’ve never experienced such cold weather before and I found it quite difficult to adapt but I definitely don’t regret anything. I think that adapting to any environment you are put into, with or without your consent, is a very important skill to possess and I’m glad that I was able to improve on this during this expedition.

I’ve learnt so much about our Earth in such little time. Climate change is an issue that does not have anywhere near the exposure that it deserves. The Arctic team and I are doing our best to improve that. Now I know that even turning off the lights once you leave a room or printing double sided can help. Little things that I once ignored. Every action counts, no matter the size.

There is an unexpected, simple beauty hidden in the Arctic that can never be explained. I hope each and every one of you get to experience it at least once. It is truly unforgettable.
